Amanda Bellamy (Teacher in Charge of Park School) went out to Lithuania in August to support the first democratic primary school there. The school is just outside the old city of Vilnius and is called Demokratine Mokykla. It is the first democratic school in Lithuania, however, it belongs to the rapidly growing community of democratic development, which in Europe is bound to EUDEC (European Democratic Education Community), and in America - the IDEA (International Democratic Education Association). Taip pat veikia AERO (Alternatyvaus ugdymo duomenų centras). and  Amanda lead workshops and seminars with Sean Bellamy (Founder of Sands School, Ashburton). they worked with the teachers and the parents from Demokratine Mokykla to explain to them about how both schools run. They discussed Domacratic and Human Scale principles as well as some very interesting conversations about children’s voice and rights. It was a fantastic experience to share the expertise that we have with not only a new school but a new country.

All the schools will be keeping in close contact with each other over the next year hope to set up a skype session for the children to have a talk to each other.
