Apple Day Fundraising Fun
The children felt that they wanted to help the plight of the many children refugees that they had heard about. They researched various charities and found that Save the Children was helping them a lot. After a vote in the school meeting they organised a café filled with homemade apple goodies like buns, cakes and pies alongside a huge apple press to help harvest all of the school’s orchard of apples. There was a wonderful selection of things to eat and drink and even bottles of juice to take home. They decorated the tables with beautiful apple carvings which they made in their forest school sessions and with posters explaining why they wanted to raise the money. They also enjoyed setting up a special children's café in the Early Years garden for the younger children.
