Play Is Children's Work
The children have been playing in our large sandpit this week making damns, roads and car washes together. They are having a wonderful time! As I watched them I saw so many ways that they were developing as whole people through this play. The communication, sharing, team work and people skills were being endlessly practiced. Problem solving was being used to get the water to the sandpit and enquiry to engineer the damns. It was a strong reminder that children learn best what they most want to learn and that play is their work.
