The children, staff and parents hosted 5 teachers from a new Early Years Democratic school in Lithuania this week. The teachers came to study the ethos at Park School to discover some ideas to take back to their very new school through workshops and discussions. ‘They watched lessons and play times and attended the weekly school meeting. This is a time where the children bring ideas that they want to improve in the school or do in the school to discuss. It is a valuable place for children to learn to that they can really use their ideas and voices to make a difference in their world.’ Said teacher Amanda Bellamy. ‘It has been a wonderful experience to share what Park School has been doing for almost 30 years with not only another school but a new culture.’ They also visited Sands School in Ashburton which is a Democratic secondary school.
