We have been invited to take part in ‘Party in the Town’ alongside other local primary school with the outstanding Brazilian percussionist, composer and performer Adriano Adewale leading us to have some music fun! Adriano Adewale (www.adrianoadewale.co.uk) has enormous experience as an educational leader and director. He regularly works with young people, leads workshops, and collaborates with community groups. He will come to school 5 times to give workshops and then there will be performance of improvisation and self-generation choral work.

Party in the Town is an entirely new event produced by Dartington Summer School and Dartington Arts, and supported by Arts Council England. It’s an interactive and exuberant celebration of music and the arts, designed for hundreds of local performers, participants, and audience members, making use of all kinds of venues throughout Totnes: from churches and small halls to restaurants, bars and public spaces.

There will be a free and fully-accessible first performance of the Adriano’s choral piece at St Mary’s Church in the centre of Totnes, opening the first-ever Party in the Town, on 27thMay 2016 at 6pm til 6.30.
