Autumn Poetry Expeditions

poemwalk2016.png

The children have been out on expeditions on the fields and meadows around the school to inspire them to create their own poems about autumn. They came up with some beautiful images and made some joint poems, which you can read below. This encouraged them to work cooperatively , enjoy literacy  and notice our stunning autumn and also reflected the importance of allowing time for children to be in nature in a very relaxed, creative and natural  way.

Autumn is here

Autumn is here

Solemn leaves dance down into the deep thick grass

Fiery leaves of golden sun dancing about having lots of fun

Autumn is here

Collapsing off the majestic hazel coloured tree a waterfall of new leaves fall to the diamond dew grass

Swirling, twirling gently down

Autumn is here

The rustling of the magical leaves opens my eyes to see the beauty of nature

As the wolf of the wind comes howling by  I notice that nature is the most beautiful invention of them all

Autumn is here
