Be a part of something amazing

 Headteacher required

Are you the person that we need to lead our wonderful school? A person who leads by inspiring our school community, able to listen and build trust; able to grow and develop the small team of teachers, educators and others in our community; able to laugh and play knowing that it is through our playful enquiry that we often learn the best lessons in life?

Our children say they want someone who is kind, caring and listens; who is enthusiastic about teaching, intelligent and thoughtful; a head teacher that who has lots of energy and makes learning fun; is nice, friendly and has fun ideas and sometimes even a little bit crazy!

We are looking for a new headteacher. After ten years of taking the school forward from strength to strength, our current school leader has taken on a newly created role as deputy headteacher enabling her to return to the classroom to teach, the place which brings her joy. We have a vacancy from September, although we may be willing to wait for the right candidate to fill it.

Park School has been established for over 31 years and is one of the longest running alternative schools in the UK. It provides a human-scale learning environment which addresses the social, emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual and creative needs of each child, helping them to realise their unique potential.

This is a different way to educate, focused on developing crucial relationships to give children the confidence to learn and explore. The individuality of each child is valued, and children learn to respect themselves and others and to become constructive members of the school community.

As the headteacher at Park School, you will be not just leading a school, but also leading a community committed to relationship-based education. You will and will be key in working with our community of parents, staff and volunteers who passionately support the education, development and well-being of our children.

You’ll find out a lot more about us on the school website. If you are interested in applying, please email the school, and we will send you further details of the post and an application form. To arrange an informal conversation please email
