Careers at Park School

Working at Park School

At Park School, teaching is rooted in relationships, reflection, and purpose. Our staff work within a human-scale learning environment, where small class sizes allow teachers to truly know their pupils as individuals and to shape learning around curiosity, wellbeing, and real-world meaning.

We value educators who want the time and space to teach thoughtfully — to notice the quiet moments of understanding, to respond to children as whole people, and to collaborate as part of a close, supportive school community. Set within the Dartington Estate, our environment is not an add-on but an integral part of how we teach, learn, and work together.

Teaching at Park School means being part of a team that prioritises emotional intelligence, democratic practice, and academic expectations, without the pressure of constant high-stakes testing. Staff are encouraged to be reflective practitioners, to bring creativity into the curriculum, and to model the values of self-care, people care, and earth care that underpin everything we do.

Vacancies

From time to time, opportunities arise to join our team at Park School. Any current staff vacancies will be advertised here on our website. Where a role is available, we warmly invite applicants to apply by completing our application form.

Even when there are no current vacancies listed, we are always pleased to hear from like-minded people who feel aligned with our ethos and values. If you are passionate about child-centred, human-scale education and feel Park School could be the right fit for you, we encourage you to get in touch to introduce yourself.

Volunteering

We welcome enquiries from individuals who are interested in volunteering at Park School. Volunteering with us offers a valuable opportunity to experience our child-centred, human-scale approach to education and to gain insight that may inspire your work with children in other settings.

To ensure a meaningful experience for both our pupils and volunteers, we ask that volunteering placements involve a commitment over a period of time. This allows volunteers to become part of the school community and enables our pupils to build trusting, positive relationships. Relationships are a vital part of our ethos at Park School, and we value the contribution volunteers make to school life.

Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of our pupils is our highest priority. Park School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants, including volunteers, are required to undergo appropriate safeguarding checks, including references from previous employers and an enhanced DBS check.
