School Community

At Park School all of our families are an integral park of our school community.

We join together as a community to uphold the school values: take care of ourselves, each other and the place we are in. We value parents as partners with us in the education of their children, parents are the people who know their children best and we always engage and listen to their expert input. Parents are invited to support in the classroom, listening to children read and sharing skills and experience.

The school also has a range of social and community events, like the annual Strawberry Fair and termly cafés, organised by our parents.  These are occasions when people get to know each other, so they are a benefit to parents as well as school and help to develop our sense of community.

Our parents also play an important role in helping to get all the school’s essential tasks and projects done. Each family contributes a minimum of 12 hours voluntary support per term. Time given on a trust basis which is an essential part of the philosophy, spirit and practice of Park School.  Parents of children who attend Early Years for the 15 hours’ free entitlement are not obliged to join this group, but we encourage them to as this helps them to feel part of our community.
